Today we are joined by Dr. Donna Lopiano on Episode 31 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Dr. Lopiano is currently the President and founder of Sports Management Resources, a consulting firm that focuses on bringing the knowledge of experienced, expert former athletics directors to assist scholastic and collegiate athletics departments in solving growth and development challenges. Previously, she was the chief executive officer of the Women's Sports Foundation from 1992 to 2007 and focused on ensuring athletic departments throughout the nation were compliant with Title IX regulations. Prior to that, in 1975, Dr. Lopiano was the first Director of Women's Athletics at the University of Texas. Throughout her years in athletics, Lopiano has been a strong advocate and supporter of Title IX regulations. Living in a male-dominated field, Dr. Lopiano gives excellent insight into equality in athletics.

Julian Jenkins is currently the Senior Director of Regional Recruiting at NCSA Next College Student Athlete, a top-tier recruiting service that helps thousands of student-athletes and their families come face-to-face with the difficult challenge of NCAA athletic recruiting every single year. For over 20 years, NCSA has empowered the next generation of student-athletes to take control of their future, maximize their potential, and get recruited. Julian has been with NCSA for the past 13+ years in various positions. Prior to coming to NCSA, Julian was in the NFL as both a Defensive Lineman for the Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as a Player Personnel/Scouting Intern for the San Fransisco 49ers. Jenkins earned his degree and played NCAA Division 1 Football at Stanford University where he was a 4-year player, 2-year starter, and Senior Year Team Captain while also earning a degree in English Literature. Matt Nein is currently the Assistant Director of Athletics & Campus Rec/Head Sports Performance Coach & Manager of Fitness & Facilities at Salisbury University, in Salisbury, Maryland, and has been since 2004. Before that, Matt was the Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2018, Matt was named the National Strength & Conditioning Association College Strength Coach of the Year, an award given annually to the top strength coach across NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA divisions. Matt also serves on the NSCA Advisory Board for the State of Delaware, is the Chair for the NSCA Lacrosse Special Interest Group (SIG), and serves on the NSCA Honor & Awards Committee. Matt earned his Master's degree in Applied Health Physiology from Salisbury University and his Bachelor's degree in Health & Physical Education/Fitness from Towson University. Today we are joined by Zac Woodfin on Episode 40 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Zac is a well-respected leader in the strength and conditioning community, is the USFL’s Director of Player Performance and Wellness, and oversees the League’s athletic performance training staff. Zac has held previous positions at the University of Missouri as Director of Athletic Performance, Kansas (2017-19) and Southern Miss (2015-16). In 2014, Woodfin won the FootballScoop award while serving as head strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater, UAB. Zac also spent time in the NFL as both a player and coach as he was with the Greenbay Packers for three seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and spent time in the NFL as a player with the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans. Woodfin graduated from UAB in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a concentration in fitness leadership.
