Today we are joined by Andrew Overton on Episode 42 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Andrew Overton, DTP is a Physical Therapist who specializes in rehab and treatment of sports-related injuries for Middletown Medical Physical Therapy, located in Middletown, NY. Overton previously held positions as a physical therapist with Access Physical Therapy and Wellness in Chester, NY where he evaluated and treated a variety of orthopedic conditions. Andrew has also worked with patients at Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth, MA, Baystate Outpatient Physical Therapy in Springfield, MA, Central Massachusetts Physical Therapy in West Boylston, MA, Shriners Children Hospital in Springfield, MA, and Pine Bush Physical Therapy in Pine Bush, NY. Andrew earned his Bachelor of Health Science and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Springfield College. Today we are joined by Trent Kersten on Episode 42 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Trent has recently been appointed the Head Coach of the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Women's Volleyball Team starting in 2023. Coach Kersten was previously the Head Coach of San Jose State University's Women's Volleyball Team where he lead the Spartans in three very successful seasons. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Coach at Texas Christian University (TCU). Trent attended UCLA where he played on the Men's Volleyball team where he lead UCLA in both hitting percentage and blocks per set. Once his playing career came to an end, Trent decided to pursue his passion for the game as a coach. Matt is the owner of Brick Alley Pub, a family-owned restaurant serving a wide variety of dishes from “pub style” comfort food to modern multicultural cuisine all served with genuine down-home hospitality, located in the heart of Newport, Rhode Island. After more than 30 years as one of Rhode Island’s most popular restaurants with locals and tourists alike, the Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant has earned landmark status. Located at 140 Thames Street across from the Brick Market Place in Downtown Newport the Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant offers a warm and cozy fireplace in the winter and comfortably air-conditioned dining rooms in the summer. Matt is also the Co-Founder of ROMA Neighborhood Farms, a farm located in Middletown, Rhode Island. Prior to taking over ownership of the restaurant, Matt was the Assistant Football Coach at the University of Rhode Island and Bryant University. Mark Glicini is the Found & CEO of Mark Glicini Peak Performance, a high-performance company focused on creating customized mental, physical, and nutritional fitness and performance strategies for top-level athletes. Mark is also currently a Professional Lacrosse Player in the NLL (National Lacrosse League) for the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. He previously played in both the PLL (Professional Lacrosse League) for the Chaos Lacrosse Club and the MLL (Major League Lacrosse) for Chesapeake Bayhawks. Prior to his time playing professional lacrosse Mark was a broker on Wall Street with BGC. Matt studied and played his college lacrosse at Yale University, where he earned a degree in Economics. Today we are joined by Dr. Cathy Saenz on episode 46 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Dr. Saenz is currently an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at The Ohio State University, as well as an independent Consultant for a wide range of populations and specifications with private and public companies, sports teams, and individuals on topics spanning physiology, exercise physiology, nutrition, and exercise metabolism. Prior to her time at The Ohio State University, Cathy was an Assistant Professor at Jacksonville University and a Post Doctorate Fellow of Nutrition and Sports Science with the Cleveland Guardians. Dr. Saenz earned her Ph.D. in Exercise Science and Nutrition from The Ohio State University as well as her Master's Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Connecticut. This episode is filled with information about the ins and out of sports nutrition at the collegiate level and what it takes to keep athletes competing at their very best.

Today we are joined by Jason Stone on episode 47 of The Hawkin Podcast.
Jason Stone is currently the Applied Sports Science Coordinator of the Cincinnati Reds where he focuses on applying practical, technical, and tactical health, performance, and human movement skill enhancement protocols across the Reds organization, with a special focus on Minor League player development, that revolves around baseball’s key performance indicators. Prior to working with the Reds, Jason worked at West Virginia University as the Performance Specialist of the Men's Basketball Team, as well as being a Senior Research Specialist. Jason also worked at The Ohio State University as their Performance/Sports Scientist. Prior to his time at OSU, Jason spent three years with Texas Christian University (TCU), in their research department. All this after being an Assistant Researcher for the Air Force Research Laboratory. Jason is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Applied Sports Science from West Virginia University. He earned his Master's in Exercise Science from TCU and attended Miami University where he received his MS in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
